1. INSTALLING AND LAUNCHING THE GAME

1. Minimal System Requirements
• Operating System: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1
• CPU Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 4000+
• Memory: XP – 1 GB RAM, Vista – 2 GB RAM
• Hard Disk Space: 6.1 GB + 1 GB Swap File
• Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
• Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required – 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 128 MB Video Memory
• Video Card (ATI): Radeon X1600
• Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 7600
• Media Required: 6X DVD-ROM drive
• Windows XP/Vista compatible mouse and keyboard with latest drivers

This product does not support Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT or XP x64/Vista x64

1.2.Installing the game

Please close all applications before installing the game. Insert the Dark Sector DVD into your DVD drive. If your PC has Auto Insert Disc
Notification enabled, the installer will start automatically. If Auto Insert Disk Notification is disabled, then find the My Computer
icon on your desktop, double-click it, locate the Dark Sector DVD icon there, and double-click it with your mouse.
After the installer launches, follow on-screen instructions to get the game set up on your computer.

1.3 Launching the game

You must have the original installation disc in your drive to run this game. The game will not run otherwise.
To launch the game, click the game icon on your desktop, or select Start – Programs – Aspyr – Dark Sector (by default).

2. Uninstalling the game

To uninstall the game, choose the 'Uninstall Dark Sector' shortcut in the game program group from the Start menu.

You can also use the Uninstall button in the game start menu that appears onscreen after inserting the game disc into DVD-ROM (if Auto insert disc
notification is turned on in your system).


If during the installation you opted not to create shortcuts in the Start menu:

- Click the Start button.
- Select Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features on Vista).
- In the programs list select Dark Sector
- Click Uninstall.

3. Known Issues

- On Windows Vista the game must be run with administrative privileges in order to be able to correctly save settings.

- On older soundcards ambient sounds may not be played.

To ensure Dark Sector runs properly, it is recommended that you install the latest drivers for your graphics cards, motherboard and soundcard. PhysX Drivers can be found on the disc with the game.
