I. INTRODUCTION
---------------

This readme file contains all the information you need to get Call of Duty: Black Ops installed and set up on your computer and troubleshoot the latest issues that may arise during installations and setup.

II. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
----------------

To ensure proper performance game, please ensure you computer meets the following minimum system requirements:

OS: Windows® XP / Windows Vista® / Windows® 7
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 or better
Memory: 2GB RAM
Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600GT / ATI Radeon™ X1950Pro or better
Hard Drive Space: 8.5 GB free hard drive space

III. INSTALLATION
----------------

-=INTERNET & CONNECTIVITY ISSUES=-

Call of Duty: Black Ops requires an active Internet connection for installation, authentication, and online play. If you are having problems connecting to a game, make sure your Internet connection is active (try websites, other online games, etc).

-=DIRECTX=-

Call of Duty: Black Ops requires that your computer have the latest version of DirectX 9.0c installed in order to run. This is included with Call of Duty: Black Ops and will run automatically during installation, and is also available online at:

http://www.microsoft.com

In order for the game to run, Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will need to install the update for DirectX 9.0c that is included on the game disc. This is necessary even if DirectX 10 is installed.

-=INSTALLING=-

- Insert the Disc into your DVD-ROM Drive, and wait for autoplay to run. If prompted, select Run Program.
- Select "Install" from the Autorun menu.
- Agree to the license agreement, and press "Install".
- Microsoft DirectX 9.0c will automatically be installed in the background.
- Log in to your existing Steam Account, or follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Steam account.
- "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops - MP" will automatically be selected as the games to install. Press next. * Note that Disk space is listed for user information. 8.5 GB are required to install Call of Duty: Black Ops.
- Select whether to install desktop and Start Menu shortcuts.
- The installer will now install the game.
- Call of Duty: Black Ops will now be available under the "Games Library" list in the Steam client.
- Please allow Steam to make any necessary updates to game.
- Once the games are fully installed and updated, double-click on "Call of Duty: Black Ops" or "Call of Duty: Black Ops - MP" to play.


-=UNINSTALLING=-

- Insert the Disc into your DVD-ROM Drive, and wait for autoplay to run. If prompted, select Run Program.
- Select "Uninstall" from the Autorun menu.
- Log into your Steam Account.
- When prompted, select "Delete game caches" for " Call of Duty: Black Ops " and "Call of Duty: Black Ops - MP".

IV. TROUBLESHOOTING

-=VIDEO ISSUES=-

Most video issues can be resolved by installing the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's website.

-=SOUND ISSUES=-

Most sound issues can be resolved by ensuring you have the latest drivers for your sound card installed. Check the website of your sound card manufacturer for the latest driver release if you are encountering problems with audio playback.
