VII: FAQ
Q: I can't install the game.
A: Make sure that you closed all unnecessary programs running in background (i.e. some anti-virus programs can preclude proper game installation).
A: Try to copy all files from DVD to one directory on your hard disk, and after this run setup.exe from your HDD.
Q: Why is an error message displayed while executing the game?
A: Make sure there is the latest DirectX® installed on your computer. If not, install DirectX from the game DVD (folder \support\DirectX\).
A: Make sure you have the latest motherboard, audio and video drivers on your computer. They are usually available for download from the vendor's website. Check the following sites for video card drivers:
www.ati.com for ATI® RADEON® drivers (we recommend 9.2 or higher)
www.nvidia.com for NVIDIA GeForce™ drivers (we recommend version 182.08 or higher)
A: Make sure that you closed all unnecessary programs running in background.
A: Check the BIOS settings if the AGP Fast Write Control is set to Disabled and the Graphics Aperture Size is set to Minimum 64MB.
Q. I can hear actor voices and some environment sounds but I don't hear gun shots.
A: If you are using 4.1 or better speaker system please check if it is set properly in your sound card properties. You may also try changing speaker system to 2/2.1 and then check out if you hear all sounds.
Q: I can't join Internet games and people can't join my Internet server.
A: Please check if after clicking on "Refresh list" button, you are able to join one of the existing the game multiplayer servers.
A: You will need to check that your firewall (if you're using one) allows the game access through it (please remember that Windows has built-in firewall). Ports needed to be opened are 27632 and 32500.
A: If you are using two network interfaces (i.e. one for LAN card and second as modem for Internet connection) disable the one not responsible for Internet connection in order to connect to.
A: Please remember that game version of both server and client must be the same in order to accomplish connection.
A: Please remember that server might be running maps you do not have - in this case you will not be able to connect to that server.
Q: My multiplayer server is too slow when hosting a multiplayer game.
A: General rule of thumb for hosting faster multiplayer games is that the better the computer you are hosting it on, the better the game runs. Another thing restricting speed of multiplayer games is the connection bandwidth you are using to play the game, the faster the connection the better the game works.
