================================================== ==========
3. DirectX® 9.0c
================================================== ==========

DirectX® 9.0c will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 10 installation.

a.) Installing DirectX® directly from DVD

FIFA 10 comes with DirectX® 9.0c. If you would like to install it manually, make sure the FIFA 10 DVD is in the DVD-ROM drive, and access the following path on your DVD-ROM drive:

"\DirectX\"

Double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to begin DirectX® 9.0c installation.

b.) DirectX® and supported hardware

We recommend that FIFA 10 be run with DirectX® 9.0c compatible sound cards and video cards.

We also suggest you update your sound card and video card driver to the newest release from the vendor or chipset website.

================================================== ==========
4. Uninstalling FIFA 10
================================================== ==========

For Windows XP, you can uninstall FIFA 10 by accessing "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.
For Windows Vista, you can uninstall FIFA 10 by accessing "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel.

================================================== ==========
5. Memory Requirements
================================================== ==========

a.) Memory requirements in Windows

FIFA 10 requires a minimum of 512 MB of RAM to run the game (1 GB required for Windows Vista).

Note: The more system memory available, the better the game will perform in all areas.

b.) Running the game under stressful Windows conditions

At Electronic Arts™ we strive to bring you the best in graphics, audio and gameplay. We are always pushing the envelope of computer performance. While we have made every effort to ensure that FIFA 10 multi-tasks with all applications for Windows, we recommend that you shut down other applications and run FIFA 10 by itself when possible.

c.) Virtual memory

We recommend that you let your operating system automatically manage the amount of virtual memory.

================================================== ==========
6. Improving Game Speed
================================================== ==========

There are several ways by which you can speed up the overall FIFA 10 experience:

a.) Lower the resolution in Game Settings in My FIFA 10.
b.) Lower the level of detail in Game Settings in My FIFA 10.
c.) Lower the shader quality in Game Settings in My FIFA 10.
d.) Turn off (in Game Settings in My FIFA 10):
3D Grass
Postprocessing Quality
Depth of field
Referee
Linesman
e.) Disable the radar in Game Settings.
f.) Turn the Commentary Volume all the way down in Game Settings.

================================================== ==========
7. Hot Keys
================================================== ==========

The following hot keys can be used in the game to access certain functions more quickly:

F2 = Tele camera
F3 = Action camera
F4 = Broadcast camera
F5 = End to End camera
F6 = Sideline camera
F7 = Dynamic camera
F8 = Widescreen camera
F9 = Radar Toggle

ESC - Pause Menu

NOTE: To change camera view in Practice Arena use the hot keys.

The following hot keys can be used from the main menu to access certain game areas more quickly:

B = Be A Pro: Club and Country
K = Kick-off Team
M = Manager Mode
O = Online Game Modes
S = Game Settings
T = Tournament Mode

================================================== ==========
8. Mouse, Keyboard and Controller Functionality
================================================== ==========

You can use the mouse, keyboard or controller to navigate the game interface.

Once you are on the Side select screen, you must move whichever input device you plan to use in the game to the left or the right to select your team.

Please note that you may have to recalibrate your controllers in Windows in order to have the game detect them correctly.

To bring up the in-game pause menus, you can press the Start button (if your gamepad has one) or press ESC.

You can re-map your controls to customise your game experience from the Controls screen in My FIFA 10. Please note that when using digital only gamepads you should not change the ‘Move Player’ setting to ‘Analog’ as this could cause undesirable effects in gameplay.

The use of a 360º-degree dual analog gamepad such as the Logitech Dual Action is highly recommended for full functionality.

FIFA 10 also supports the use of the mouse to control gameplay actions. Up to a 5 button mouse can be used, and controls can be configured in the Controls screen.

The following gamepads are also supported:

If proper drivers are not provided by the manufacturer, you may choose to disable any of these devices using the Device Manager in your Windows operating system. To open Device Manager, click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
