1. Gameplay

2. Default Controls

Game Controls

The controls listed below form the default keyboard and mouse configuration for Right-handed people. We do offer controls for left-handed players from the options menu.

3. Mac Controls and Shortcuts

Command-Return Toggle between windowed and fullscreen modes.
Command-Tab Minimize the game when in fullscreen mode.

Note that when the game is minimized, it will not pause, but will continue running in the background.

- Right and Middle Mouse Button Functionality on Mac OS X -

This game contains features that require a right mouse button and middle mouse button. If you have an Apple Mighty Mouse, you can enable the Right Mouse Button in System Preferences->Keyboard and Mouse. Change the "Right Click" drop down to Secondary Button.

Most PC USB mice are supported on the Macintosh as well. The Left, Right, and Middle mouse buttons are detected and work correctly on these mice when first plugged in.

If you have an Apple legacy single button mouse, or a MacBook Pro with a Track Pad, you can emulate a right mouse button click by holding down the Command key while clicking the mouse button.

5. Minimum Mac Configuration

In the event of any problems, please ensure that your Mac meets the minimum specification stated below.

OS: Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 / Snow Leopard 10.6.4
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor or greater
RAM: 1024 MB or greater
Video Adapter: ATI Radeon X1600 128MB / Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 128MB cards or greater

HDD Space 2.1GB

This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems.
This game is not supported on the Intel GMA 950, Intel GMA X3100, or Nvidia 7300GT

6. Installation

NOTE: Create will only install and run on machines installed with Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP.

Windows XP:
  • Insert the disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once the game has installed you can launch it by locating the game
  • through the Start menu or the desktop icon.
Windows Vista/Windows 7:
  • Insert the disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once the game has installed you can launch it from the Games Explorer in
  • the Start\Games menu
  • Windows Vista (Classic Start menu style), games are located in the
  • Start\Programs\Games\Games Explorer menu.
Mac OS X Leopard/Snow Leopard:
  • Insert the disc into your disc drive. A CD icon representing the game disc
  • appears on your desktop. Double-click the icon to open the game's disc image.
  • Double-click the game's installer icon at the bottom of the disc image background.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Once the game has installed you can launch it from Finder here: /Applications/Create/

For your convenience, we have included DirectX, EA Download Manager, Microsoft Visual C++ SP1 2005 Redistributable package and Adobe® AIR® on the Create disc.

8. Uninstall

Windows XP:
  • Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
  • Click on Change or Remove Programs.
  • Click on the Create program entry.
  • Click on the Remove button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.
  • Save game profiles are not automatically removed during the uninstall. These files are located under \Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Electronic Arts\Create
Windows Vista/Windows 7:
  • Open Programs and Features in Control Panel.
  • Click on the Create program entry.
  • Click on the Uninstall button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.
  • Save game profiles are not automatically removed during the uninstall. These files are located under \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\Create
Mac OS X Leopard/Snow Leopard:
  • Ensure you are logged in using an account which has Administrative privileges.
  • Delete the Create folder from your Applications folder.
  • Additional files can be found in /Users/<Username>/Library/Preferences/Create Preferences

If you are unable to resolve your problem with the above notes, use the help file that contains EA's technical support webpage at support.ea.com.

Windows XP:
  • It is located under "Technical Support" in Start\Programs\Electronic Arts\Create.
Windows Vista/Windows 7:
  • It is located in the Games Explorer which is accessed in the Start\Games menu. Right click on Create and Select "Technical Support" from the menu.

11. Trouble Shooting

  • Using an EA account with no EA ID - If you log in to Create for the first time and associate your license key with an EA account that has no EA ID defined, you will need to go to the EA website and add an EA ID to your account before you can use Create Online. To do this, log in to your EA account via the EA account login page and then select Add Persona
  • Create and its installer will pick the optimum configuration for your machine. We do not advise you to edit any of the compatibility or display options from the executable shortcuts.
  • Dual Monitor set-up - if you are playing on a dual monitor set-up and the game pointer becomes unresponsive, please check that the windows mouse pointer is not active on your second monitor.
  • French Canadian keyboard - Create does not currently support French Canadian keyboard directly. If you are playing Create in French it will default to a French keyboard layout in the controls (from English keyboard this swaps the A and Q keys and the Z and W keys).
  • Create does not support portrait screen orientation.
  • If running on an ATI Radeon 4800 series card, please Disable Catalyst A.I. in the ATI Catalyst Control Center.
  • Create does not support the ATI RADEON 2600 HD PRO
Computer hardware manufacturers are constantly updating their driver software so that their hardware can play the latest software programs with the best possible performance. If your system is not using the latest driver please consider obtaining an updated driver. Doing this may also give you benefits such as increased performance, the elimination of a technical problem and new component features.
