I. INTRODUCTION

This readme file contains all the information you need to get [Prototype®2] installed and set up on your computer and troubleshoot the latest issues that may arise during installations and setup.

II. INSTALLATION
-----------------
-=INTERNET & CONNECTIVITY ISSUES=-
[Prototype®2] requires an active Internet connection for installation, authentication, and online play. If you are having problems connecting to a game, make sure your Internet connection is active (try websites, other online games, etc).
-=DIRECTX=-
[Prototype®2] requires that your computer has the latest version of DirectX 9.0c installed in order to run. This is included with [Prototype®2] and will run automatically during installation, and is also available online at:
http://www.microsoft.com
In order for the game to run, Windows Vista and Windows 7 users will need to install the update for DirectX 9.0c that is included on the game disc. This is necessary even if DirectX 10 or 11 is installed.
-=INSTALLING=-
- Insert the disc into your DVD-ROM Drive, and wait for autoplay to run. If prompted, select Run Program.
- Select "Install" from the Autorun menu.
- Press "Install" and agree to the license agreement.
- Microsoft DirectX 9.0c will automatically be installed in the background.
- Log in to your existing Steam Account, or follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Steam account.
- "[Prototype®2]" will automatically be selected as the game to install. Press next. * Note that Disk space is listed for user information. 10.5 GB are required to install [Prototype®2].
- Select whether to install desktop and Start Menu shortcuts.
- The installer will now install the game.
- [Prototype®2] will now be available under the "My Games" list in the Steam client.
- Please allow Steam to make any necessary updates to the game.
- Once the game status is set to "100% - Ready", Double-click on "[Prototype®2]" to play.
-=UNINSTALLING=-
- Insert the disc into your DVD-ROM Drive, and wait for autoplay to run. If prompted, select Run Program.
- Select "Uninstall" from the Autorun menu.
- Log into your Steam Account.
- When prompted, select "Delete game caches" for "[Prototype®2]"

III. TROUBLESHOOTING

-=VIDEO ISSUES=-
Most video issues can be resolved by installing the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's website.
-=SOUND ISSUES=-
Most sound issues can be resolved by ensuring you have the latest AC97 drivers for your sound card installed. Check the website of your sound card manufacturer for the latest AC97 driver release if you are encountering problems with audio playback.

-=CONTROL ISSUES=-
Keyboard Menu
- In the Keyboard menu, if you bind an action to any mouse button other than the left, middle or right mouse buttons, the binding will appear as blank. Only the left, middle and right buttons are supported on the mouse.
- In the Keyboard menu, when you select an action and "???" appears, you must then bind a key or mouse button to that action before you can exit the Keyboard menu.
